Finally..... What I promised my "readers!"

So i just wanted to let everyone in on what exactly my job is.....

I usually work a later shift, which I think is great, I get to sleep in. I start work at 2:30, and get done at 11:00. I am an underwriter, which basically means a credit analyst, or a loan officer. For those that I went to high school with, don't laugh it's true, the girl who hated math of any kind works at a finance company.

So basically we work with mostly Kirby vaccums, those ridicously expensive vaccums, and the dealer/sales person will call from the customers home with all there basic info to run there credit. Then the person (aka zip taker) will call me for a decision based on the credit and supporting info, such as job info, housing info, whether or not they are doing automatic payments (helps make the deal stronger, so basically easier to collect on!) and stuff like that. I also have to read the credit, and based on there fico score and good or bad credit then we can take the deal at certain levels. And there are A LOT of levels!! I think part of the reason for the stress at my job is because of the different distributors, or the boss at every kirby office, has different things to take into account for making a decision. Some you need to buy tighter than others, or upgrade a decision because they have good numbers with us, some need to go to a different department (special handling- where the deals are REALLY bad, we are talking 400 fico scores!!!). Things like that!

So then after I make a decision on a deal, if we take it, the zip taker goes through the information with the customer and makes sure that the dealers are really selling the product to a customer, they are known to pull a fast one on us every once in a while. So that is basically what I do. I used to be a zip taker, and was good at it, but they wanted me to move up, so I did! Some days are better than others, like all jobs, so I just have to remember that!!

Since there are so many levels, it is very easy to make a wrong decision, but since nobody has the same credit, underwriting is something that is very hard to train in. There are different parts to it, and not just the levels, and the particular distributors, but also we work with other merchandise, and that has more levels. There is also, if social security numbers are not matching, we have to look those up and get the correct one! it seems like every distributor has something new to add for there company. Everyday I get to work, and it seems like some kind of rule changed, which adds to the stress! Don't get me wrong though, I love my job, and especially my co-workers!! Like the posse of course, which if you read below, you can find out more about them!!

I also work on the "Training" team, which is fun! I get to work with new hires and introduce them to the company. I am also going to be working on QA (quality assurance) stuff soon, or so they say..... just listening to staff and basically helping them out with stuff they need to work on!!

So, that is my job!! It is a really great place to work, so if you want to work for me, put my name on the application!!! I know you have been waiting for me to write about my job, so there ya go!! enjoy!
